State and federal regulators closed America West Bank, Layton, Utah, late on Friday, making it the 32nd failure of the year. Hot on the heels of Silverton is Citizens Community Bank, Ridgewood, NJ, as failure #31 of 2009 by the FDIC-only count (here's Citizens' obligatory, minimally-useful FDIC failure page).
Citizens was comparatively tiny, with about $45 million in assets.
