First Bank of Idaho, Ketchum, Indiana, was closed Friday by the Office of Thrift Supervision, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

According to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the First Bank of Idaho has been closed by the Office of Thrift Supervision.  The closure happened Friday.

The FDIC has entered into an agreement with U.S. Bank to assume all the deposits of the First Bank of Idaho.

Depositers can still access their money through the weekend with checks or by using ATM or debit cards.  Loan customers should also continue to make their payments.

The failed bank had five branches in Idaho — Driggs, Ketchum, Victor, Hailey and Bellevue –and two in Jackson, Wyoming.

The two branches with Saturday drive-up windows will open as usual Saturday.

The FDIC will continue to back deposits, so customers don’t have to change banks.

This is the 29th bank to fail in the nation this year.

Customers with questions about today’s action can go to the FDIC web page.
